Madison County Prevention supports our community by providing adult education on a variety of topics related to parenting, substance misuse, wellness, trauma, suicide prevention, and mental health virtually on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Why Prevention? What is Addiction? provides education on how to prevent substance use and
mental health challenges and what we can do to get better at the onset.

Sources helps to create resiliency by focusing on strengths, help-seeking, and connection; recognizing and building on strengths so we have them to lean on during times of stress.

Alcohol Literacy Challenge

Alcohol Literacy Challenge (ALC) uses media literacy techniques to demonstrate how alcohol marketing can produce strongly held positive beliefs about drinking and how young people are impacted by marketing tactics.

CATCH My Breath is a peer-reviewed, evidence-based youth vaping prevention program. The program provides up-to-date information to teachers, parents, and health professionals to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions about the use of e-cigarettes, including JUUL devices. CATCH My Breath utilizes a peer-led teaching approach and meets National and State Health Education Standards.

Trauma 101

Trauma 101 provides a foundational overview of trauma, resilience, and trauma-informed care for anyone in the community. 

Mind and Body enrichment_yoga and mindfulness

Yoga and Mindfulness Basics will teach you the basics of Yoga and Mindfulness.  Yoga and Mindfulness can make you stronger, more flexible, focused and alert.


Generation RX focuses on educating on four “key messages” for safe medication practices to prevent drug overdoses (representing the leading cause of accidental death in the U.S.).

Wake up Program

Wake Up addresses the Opioid Crisis from understanding to action.

Stress First Aid

Stress First Aid is a set of supportive actions designed to help you with self-care and support others to mitigate the negative impacts of stress.

Minimize Risk-Maximize Life provides information on one's inherited risk of forming a dependence on alcohol and how to prevent a potential dependence. Participants receive a $25.00 gift card for participation and completion of pre/post surveys

How to talk to your teen about anything.

How to Talk to Your Teen About Anything…Including Alcohol and Other Drugs was developed as a strategy to help communities more effectively respond to the opioid crisis.

Parent Stressors and Coping Technique

Parent Stressors & Coping Techniques is a fun, interactive, and creative workshop to help parents identify stressors and develop coping skills when feeling stressed.

Teens and Technology

Teens and Technology equips caregivers with the knowledge and tools to teach teens how to be safe when engaging in social media. 

Communication Strategies for Parents

Communication Strategies for Parents & Caregivers of Teens focuses on identifying common communication barriers and demonstrating how to open lines of communication.

Pax Tools

PAX Tools is a collection of evidence-based, trauma-informed strategies to improve cooperation and self-regulation with
youth. PAX Tools is intended for any caring adult who interacts with children, such as parents, caregivers, professionals, and
volunteers. Adults who participate in PAX Tools trainings will receive the materials they need to effectively use PAX Tools with

Triple P is a comprehensive, evidence‐based parenting and family support system designed to: 

Increase parents’ confidence and competence in raising children,
improve the quality of parent‐child relationships, 

de‐stigmatize parenting information and family support, make evidence‐based parenting information and interventions widely accessible to parents
